Helping students meet their financial needs
The rising cost of obtaining a college education has made it increasingly difficult for many students and families to realize their dreams of earning a degree. At Safe Lagoon we understand the value of education as well as the financial strain that being a student can often entail.
The team which runs Safe Lagoon works hard every day to protect families around the world but it wasn’t always the case. We used to be students too, and we value those who’ve dedicate themselves to furthering their education. We would like to give you a hand. This is why we’ve set up the Safe Lagoon Children’s Advocate Scholarship program.
In an effort to help students meet their financial needs, Safe Lagoon is pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to each winner of the annual Safe Lagoon Children’s Advocate Scholarship essay contest. Details regarding the contest and application procedures are detailed below.
How can I participate?
In order to participate in the contest, prospective applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited North American college or university, or planning to attend one in the fall 2017 semester. Applicants should submit a 500-word essay answering the following question to the email address provided below:
What can we do to reduce online dangers for children?
Out of the pool of applicants, we will choose five finalists. We will then post the five finalists’ essays on our blog and our social media pages.
I’m a finalist, now what?
Now it’s your turn to share your hard work! The finalists will be responsible for promoting their entries within their social media networks – get your friends, family, and followers to like or share your essay for the best chance to win! The winner will be determined by the amount of social media “buzz” the winning essays generate. The finalist with the most Facebook “Likes” on their essay page wins! In order to be eligible to participate, applicants must simply be either currently enrolled in or actively applying to a college or graduate/professional program.
The application guidelines are as follows:
